I always find myself running out of birthday cards for boys. So I decided to make a couple a head of time.

Sizzix Index Card Folder

I told you all before I really love this Sizzix Index card folder die. You are not limited to index cards. You can use it for gift cards as well as 3.5x5 mini note cards. The final holder is altered. To finish off your holder add a Velcro strip.

Mini Books 3

I finally got some free time to make a couple of mini books. I love my Bind it All and Cricut YourStory. I use them frequently to make my mini books. With the Zutter Bind it All you can make books that are spiral bound. There is no limit to your imagination. I found a new technique which gives my spine a nice finished look. The final two pics are from the Cricut Yourstory heat binding machine. The books are hard bound from 8x8 to 12x12. The smaller sizes are made with a soft cover. You can also use your own covers. The spine has a strip of glue which binds your pages when the glue is heated. You can also use your own glue strip from your hot glue gun. I love having options with my book making.

Sizzix scoreboards die

I just discovered Sizzix Scoreboard dies and I love them. They are the right size for gift cards and mini albums. I used the accompanying mat board which Sizzix also sells. They come in cream and black at 6x13. They are extremely thick boards and they will make your projects sturdy. The first project is the mini album. The dimensions are 4 1/4 x 6 1/2. The inside binding requires an accordion fold. The other project is the note card holder. I altered it a bit to hold gift cards.

I purchased Anna Griffin's Garden Window Card kit to make my Mother's Day cards this year. This kit saved me a lot of time and effort.

Cards etc...

I love making cards. They are quick and easy and they give you a chance to use your paper stash. Over the years I have accumulated a lot of paper so making cards allows me to use them instead of hoarding them. I recently made invitations for my son's First Communion. I used Photoshop Elements for the text and digital images and used one of the spellbinder dies as a closure for the gate fold card. The Criss Cross card was inspired by the Brooklyn Nets logo. The following cards and invitations were created with Photoshop Elements.
